Join us for our annual Midsummer Festival – June 16, 17 & 18! Midsummer (or Midsommar in Swedish) is held in June around the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. It is a celebration of the ushering in of light, after the long dark winters and is a cherished tradition in Scandinavia. This holiday is considered the second most-important holiday of the year after Christmas.

Come celebrate Midsummer with us in the Scandinavian Heritage Park!
This year’s event will include music, vendors, demonstrations, workshops, food/refreshments, fun kids’ activities, and the most anticipated event – the lighting of the bonfire on BOTH Friday and Saturday night (weather permitting)! The sauna may also be open!

HOURS:
Friday: 5 pm to 10 pm (Bonfire night!)
Saturday: 10 am to 10pm (Bonfire night, 2.0)
Sunday: 11 am to 12 pm (Worship Service)

ADMISSION: FREE!

The park buildings open for the season Wednesday May 17th, 2023!  And of course all the festivities to be included for  Constitution Day is the national day of Norway and is an official public holiday observed on 17 May each year. Among Norwegians, the day is referred to as Syttende Mai (“Seventeenth of May”), Nasjonaldagen (“National Day”), or Grunnlovsdagen (“Constitution Day”)

Park buildings will be open as volunteers are able to staff. Inclement weather may impact the schedule.

Julefest – Sons of Norway

Tickets $16 Advance and $20 At the Door. Tickets are available at all Market Place Food grocery stores, Art Main, NW Art Center. Kick off the holidays with the annual Tour of Homes! Enjoy a cookie walk, silent auction, Festival of the Arts, and beautiful decorations.

About this Event: ‘Tis the season for the Taube Museum of Art’s Holiday Twilight Tour of Homes Fundraiser! The Taube Museum of Art is happy to present, the Holiday “Twilight” Tour of Homes for 2022 after a 2 year hiatus. It will be held on December 3, 2022 from 3pm-7pm, with tastefully decorated homes and cultural destinations for you to enjoy and delight in every detail. Enjoy a day of dazzling fun with your $16 ticket. Day of the Tour tickets are $20 and will be available at the Taube Museum of Art, as well as at each home. By purchasing a ticket, attendees will be supporting the Taube Museum of Art and have a delightful time viewing beautiful holiday decorations.

Midsummer Festival in the Park – June 17-19, 2022

The dates are set… gnomes, trolls and volunteers are busy crafting and planning the 2022 Midsummer Festival! This year’s Midsummer Festival will be held June 17th – 19th. at the Scandinavian Heritage Park. A fun, family friendly event, open to the public without a general admission fee.

Last year’s festival was the largest to date, and we are hoping to build on that for this year to include even more fun and heritage! This year’s event will include music, demonstrations, workshops, delicious food and treats, cool refreshments, fun activities for kids, traditional Maypole dances, an evening bonfire by the pond (weather permitting) and wrap up with a non-denominational Sunday morning gathering at the beautiful Gol-Stave Church! We want all to be inspired and share the rich cultural heritage of Scandinavia by joining us for the 2022 Midsummer Festival!

The Scandinavian Heritage Park located in Minot, North Dakota is a magical place where you’ll find remembrances and replicas from each of the five Scandinavian and Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.
