Memorials

Honor the memory of a loved one with a meaningful gift to the Scandinavian Heritage Park. Memorial contributions provide a lasting way to celebrate their life while supporting the preservation, care, and continued growth of the park for future generations.

We sincerely thank you for considering a memorial gift on behalf of someone special.

The Dalahst (Dala Horse) Helping Hands!

The Dalahäst has proudly welcomed visitors to the Scandinavian Heritage Park since 2000. Standing nearly 30 feet tall, it is believed to be the largest Dala Horse in North America and has become one of the park’s most recognizable landmarks.

After 26 years of enduring North Dakota’s changing seasons, the original structure is ready to be retired and replaced. The Dalahäst Helping Hands campaign invites the community to help preserve this beloved symbol for future generations.

Inspired by the traditional wooden horses carved in Dalarna, Sweden, the Dalahäst represents Scandinavian craftsmanship, heritage, and tradition.

Heritage Park Fund

The Heritage Park Fund supports the preservation and ongoing care of the buildings, sculptures, and cultural features throughout the Scandinavian Heritage Park. Established in 1988, the park serves as a lasting tribute to Scandinavian heritage and a meaningful legacy for future generations.

As a private nonprofit organization, the Scandinavian Heritage Association is responsible for maintaining the park’s historic structures and features in cooperation with the Minot Park District, which cares for the surrounding grounds. Your contribution helps protect this unique cultural setting and ensures it can continue to inspire visitors for years to come.
